First Lady
Maureen B. Tyson, born in Washington, NC (with her twin sister Arlene) and a
native of Temple Hills, Md., was born on May 1, 1963 to Matthew and Alice
Barnhill. Her siblings are her twin sister and brother, Matthew, Jr. She
attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC and graduated with a
BS degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She has taken graduate classes at Virginia
State University in Ettrick, VA and Virginia Commonwealth University in
Richmond, VA. On March 8, 1986 she was united in Holy
Matrimony to Oscar R. Tyson, Jr. On
August 10, 1990 she was baptized in Jesus’ name at Narroway Church of God and
True Holiness under the leadership of Elder James Andrews. Oscar R. Tyson, Jr was called into the
ministry and at the passing of Elder Andrews; Oscar Tyson was ordained as
Pastor and Maureen Tyson as the First Lady of Narroway True Holiness
Church. She is extremely active with the
ministries in the church at the local, state and national levels. She is also called upon for counseling and
consulting. She is a middle school
teacher with the Chesterfield County Public School System in Chesterfield,
Virginia. She loves to share the word of
God wherever she goes and has a heart for all people.
She is a
dedicated mother to her three children, Oscar Ray III, Brianna Maureen, Brandon
Matthew Tyson and foster son, Wayne Christian, Jr. She is also a proud grandmother to Dominic
Ray Tyson. She is dedicated to her
husband and the vision that God has given him to fulfill.
